Virtual choirs are alive and well... - Mon 20 Apr 2020

What is your choir doing during the Coronavirus lockdown? Looking on social media, there are many which are involved in virtual rehearsals, with varying degrees of success due to the time-lag of Internet and broadband connections. My own choir is enjoying the social aspect of the rehearsals - and managing to do some singing as well; we think that it is important that we make the effort to keep the choir members in touch with each other when they are not able to meet in person. Otherwise social isolation could be crippling for some, who may live alone and have nobody to talk to.

Do tell us what you are doing - especially if you are doing anything out of the ordinary. Given that our Publications Officer normally relies on articles from our choirs about their concerts, trips away, and other events to go into News & Views, and currently nothing like that is happening, we would love input from you telling us what you are getting up to - the wackier the better! Also please let us have details about your forthcoming concerts and events - now is the time to advertise your proposed autumn concerts to make sure that you get the news out to your audience and your community.

Good luck to all our member choirs; keep safe and well, and we will still be singing together when this awful virus is just a distant memory.
